THE PROCESS
A current and valid photo identification card with a signature must be provided for notarization. It is also a requirement that the person whose signature is being notarized is present during the notarization process and has furnished the appropriate identification documentation.
It is incumbent upon the signatory's documentation to include a photograph, signature, identifying number, and detailed physical description that encompasses height, weight, hair color, and eye color.
Accepted Notarization Identification Cards
Valid Driver’s License or Valid State Issued ID Card, issued by any US state, or Valid USA Passport
US Military Identification
IDs and resident alien IDs or “green cards” issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Credible Witness: In the absence of adequate identification or ‘personally known’, a document signer’s identity may be established by a credible witness. The credible witness must be personally known to the Notary and must personally know the document signer. There should be a chain of personal knowledge from the Notary to the credible witness to the signer. A credible witness may also be relied on to verify a signer’s authority to represent a corporation, partnership, or other entity.
We only accept notarization IDs from our approved list, not unexpired or other forms of ID including Birth Certificates, Social Security Cards, or Credit Cards.
